Give the journalist the story, not a research assignment
One of the most common problems with Japanese music PR is not incorrect information, but missing information. A release may explain the new song while assuming the recipient already knows who the artist is, what they have achieved, why this moment matters, or which detail actually makes the announcement worth covering.
Room.C builds the missing context into the material before it reaches the inbox.
Who this is for
Teams that already have the music and core information, but need a clear English-language press package before outreach, distribution, or partner communication begins.
What is included
- Release and artist research
- International positioning and story-angle development
- English-language press release
- Short artist biography or biography update
- Artist-at-a-glance context and key facts where useful
- EPK organisation and release-information checks
- Image, caption, and credit review
- Two revision rounds
Artist context is part of the release
We assume the recipient may be encountering the artist for the first time. Depending on the story, that can mean explaining origin, current lineup or project identity, career milestones, previous international activity, notable collaborators, label context, relevant chart or live history, and why the current announcement represents a meaningful next step.
Finding the angle
If the supplied announcement is technically complete but the story is buried, Room.C looks for the strongest usable editorial angle rather than simply translating the headline and body copy.
Translation and localisation
Japanese source material can be translated into English as part of the preparation process. The emphasis is on preserving meaning while making the material natural and useful in its new context. English-to-Japanese work is available on request through the separate translation service and is scoped with native Japanese-language review.
What is not included
This service does not include journalist outreach unless it is combined with an International Digital Press Campaign.
Timing and materials
Where the material is tied to a press campaign, getting in touch four to six weeks before release gives useful room for research, preparation, approval, and outreach. Standalone material work can be scheduled separately after the source text and deadline are reviewed.
